So, everyone doing the Leaving Cert for Irish will have to prepare ten sraithphictiúir and then read one out as part of the oral exam …
And for anyone who feels they haven’t got a clue and do not know where to start, I am putting up really simple and straightforward notes for 19 different stories (sraithphictiúr).
They are really based on Keeping it Simple and use the past tense verbs to tell the story.
As long as you can tell the story, even on a simple level, you will be ok.
They are laid out in this post as:
The Sraithphictiúr —— Simple core vocabulary —— The Story Sentences (simple) ——- A Video
(I apologize in advance for my handwriting).
Read them out loud to yourself as much as you can – this is a good way of getting used to hearing yourself speak Irish and formulate the words – and it will get so much easier the more you do it.
I hope you find these notes, (and the videos where I read them out), helpful on some level. All of the sraithphictiúir have accompanying videos, except for the last two (for the moment).
Bainigí sult agus tairbhe astu! (Enjoy and get benefit out of them!)
